Debbie,
We rescued Nigel (now known as Samson) from your organization last March. Just thought you would like to see an updated picture of him. He is doing great, and has made a huge difference in our family…he’s our “little man,” and we love him so much. Thanks for all that you do.

Hi Debbie,
Just wanted to let you know that Tucker is fitting in very well with his new family and sister (Brooke). He has tried all of her toys and we are in the process of getting him is own stuff to play with. We also have a cat that he simply ignores (thankfully). He seems very happy and is adjusting nicely.
Thanks again.

Hi Debbie,
Just an update on Blitz. He is 6.25 pounds (up from 3.9 when we got him) and healthy as ever. He started puppy classes and has already learned the "come" command.. he's very bright. He loves to play in the new england snow; a good thing since it's knee high right now! Thank you again for getting him to us. Hope his Mom, Dad and sisters are well too. Take care and best wishes..

Here is "Miley" (AKA Crunch, Casey) in her Christmas outfit! She totally soaked up all the love & attention from the whole family yesterday! She is all settled in, it's as if she's been here forever!
Couldn't have asked for a better more perfect fit, for all of us! She is our little Christmas Angel!
Thank you both so.... much for all you've done! She is so.... loved, and the sweetest most loving little girl!

She arrived OK here in New England and was exhausted for a couple of days but now she's playing with her toys and me. She is the cutest little dog and I already love her and she loves me. She sleeps in bed with me on the side where there should be another pillow. I put her blanket there and she cuddles up. She loves to be in my lap and she's all that I hoped she would be. My daughter and I gave her a bath the day she got here and she didn't seem to mind that. (She did smell from the trip, but is beautiful now.) Thank you so much for the care you gave her. She is a wonderful little dog and I am greatful. Marge (Dixie's new mother.)

Hi Debbie! Mikey made the trip to Massachusetts and he is here in his new home. :-)
I attached two pictures of him after his bath. He smelled like the cedar chips from the trip. Now he is clean an comfy. He has not made a sound and is just starting to wander the house a bit. Hopefully he will eat or drink some water soon. I know it will take a bit for him to adjust!
One question, is Mikey the name the breeder called him or did you just give him that name? If he's had it for three years, we don't want to change it, but if he's only had the name for a couple weeks we might find one that suits him better.
Thank you so much for matching us up with him.......he's a wonderful dog!!
Barbara
Milo is awesome!!!! He is such a love magnet :) He has eaten his chicken and rice and drank, been bringing him out every 1/2 hour to potty.....but nothing yet :) I just love him to death!!! Thank you soooooo very much...!!!!!!!!! Deb

Hi Lynn!
I finally have a moment to email you to give you an update on Tabitha. She's doing great and is so sweet. She fits right in to our family like she's always been there. She is so loving and cuddly and has become my BFF. She doing pretty good with housetraining and while I crate her during the day, she sleeps next to me at night. That started night one. I put her in her crate next to my bed and after a minute, she started to bark. Well, that wasn't going to work for me so I let her in bed and she sleeps stuck like glue to me all night.
She even seems to know some tricks. She knows how to sit on command and dances when she sees you're going to give her a treat. While she takes a bit of time to warm up to strangers, but it doesn't take that long, especially if they give her a treat. Once she's comfortable with you, you're golden!
I absolutely love her and can't imagine not having her. My son feels the same. We're so happy.
I wanted to thank you for helping me find Tabitha. She has already made such a positive impact to our family. She's my girl. Thank you so much!
Laurie

Deidre in her new home in New England. This little girl was once a breeder, now she has the home and life every dog deserves.
Here is another picture of Stephanie! She is so beautiful and such a lovely little girl. I love her so much. She seems to enjoy her freedom of walking around the house outside in the yard or sleeping in bed with me at night. She has been very good with going to the bathroom outside. She was excellent in the car ride from Ct. to Myrtle Beach, SC. Loves being in this warmer weather. She is eating like a little piggie! Seems to enjoy little treats of people food! She is getting along fine with my sisters yorkie and my mothers laso apso/shiz su. Needs to learn to walk on a leash a little better. She sometimes walks good and then when she goes in circles the leash gets caught on her little legs and she bites it. She will learn though, she's trying. She is trying to trust people. She gets nervous sometimes when I go to pick her up, but I hold her so much and she loves having her little head rubbed and loves when I rub and scratch her neck, and her little belly.
Thanks, Lorraine

Lorraine is in love with Little Stephanie, she is all cuddled up in her doggie bed, and very much loved! She will be going on Florida to vacation next week! She is a lucky girl!

All is well!! Townsend, or McCoy, as we call him, is fairing very well with Fenway. We introduced them slowly, as instructed by the video you sent us. Although timid at first, McCoy came right out of his shell and hasn't stopped playing with Fenway since Saturday. They even take naps together, sleeping near each other. Other than that, McCoy is behaving very well around the baby. He seems to be taking notes and learning quickly from Fenway. He is already sitting on command and relieving himself outside where Fenway goes. We had a few accidents the first day, but that was expected. He has fit into this family like a perfect puzzle piece. I have enclosed a picture, even though its tough to get with them moving around so much. Thank you for everything! The Teixeira Family

Sorry for the delayed response. Parker is doing really well and adjusting to his new home/neighborhood. He is the sweetest dog and currently sleeping by my side. Also, he must have 30 toys scattered around the apartment and he loves all of them. It is hilarious to watch when he is playing with them because he throws them around and chases after them. Ive come to learn that Parker definitely loves his food/treats…trying to calm him down before meals is a job within itself. But I guess chewing his food will come with time…J He has plenty of treats and is adjusting well to his new dog food (Blue Buffalo).
He is getting along well with my girlfriend’s dog, Teddy, who is still getting used to another dog in the mix. But Parker seems aware that Teddy wants his space at times and is totally happy giving him the distance – what a smart boy! We had a vet appointment today, which went well, but she mentioned that I may need to consider removing three baby teeth including one canine so he doesn’t have long term dental issues. I noticed that he gets things caught between his adult/puppy teeth that I have to go in and pull out at times.
Funny story - the car ride home was definitely eventful! Parker gets a bit motion sick in the car. He began to drool excessively and then got sick all over my lap…so I tried to drive and clean myself up when he began to get sick again. Needless to say, when we finally made it home, we both took a bath. I think he was a bit nervous and that contributed to his upset stomach. But I also think that he gets motion sick as well because we went for a car ride later in the weekend, and he got sick again. The vet said that it is common and nothing to worry about.
Thank you again for matching us up. We’re fastly becoming best friends … my little shadow. Enjoy the picture of his new bomber jacket (Boston’s a little cold).
Warm wishes,
Adam

PARKER IN HIS NEW HOME IN BOSTON
Hi Lynn and Deb,
Just wanted to update you on Lil' Miss Smiley Miley! She is the happiest little girl! She's coming out of her shell and is becoming so playful and energetic! She has come to LOVE the snow, and races around in it like she's a little hound dog on a scent! She is quite the tracker! She is healing up beautifully and doesn't seem to have any pain, however, we do limit her use of stairs with baby gates. She is just an amazing little girl who has brought such happiness and joy to our lives! I want to thank you both again, so very much, for all that you did for our precious little girl! We can't imagine life without her! She healed our hearts and made our home feel complete again!
Really looking forward to springtime when we can take her to the campground and show her where she'll be spending her summers! I know she's going to love it there! It's one big puppy adventure there, with the lake and lots of places to run and play! We even got her a little life vest so she can go boating with us! We'll see if she likes the water! Our labs love it, and we're hoping she'll take to it as well! (Heinzy- our last dachsie didn't like the water so much!) Miley seems to really enjoy her baths so maybe she'll like the lake too!
Hope you're all doing well! I just wanted you to know that I think of you often and am so grateful for all you did for us! We love her so.... much! We couldn't be happier! Thanks a million and God bless you both for all that you do!
In gratitude,
Tina and Jeff in CT (Miley, Gus, Rhianna, Wally and Fishbait too!)

Hi! Just thought I'd send you an update on Mikey. He is doing great. Slowly adjusting to us, follows me everywhere now. We all love him so much already! He is even beginning to play a bit. I attached one nice picture for you and one silly one when he was playing with me. Thank you again for sending us such a wonderful dog. Barbara

I'm happy to report that my Spuddy aka Macbeth, is doing well now. He is up and running around with me and my son. He is also wee wee pad train for in the house. We do take him out for walks even after he eats. I'm so happy and proud of my little smart baby. He brings me so much joy whenever I see him. He greets me at the door when I get home with so much energy. He loves going on walks and sniffing at any and everything he sees. I brought him a nice comfortabel bed for him but he finds comfort in being in my son's bed with him. The only thing I don't allow Spuddy to go is my bedroom and bathroom. But of course you know he has full range of the apt. Thank you so much for all your patient and help. Love Carlin and Spuddy...

My boyfriend, Eric, and I had been looking around various websites and local shelters for available dachshunds. Eric loved dachshunds and had wanted one for years. After casually mentioning it to one of my managers, Nancy, who happens to foster dogs at her house, she then spread the word to a few of her contacts. We soon stumbled upon a very loveable, sweet, and curious Barney. I liked him right away from his unique markings, called pie-bald, and from his story of being rescued from being euthanized, due to the cost of getting his heartworms treated, and his long 17 hour journey to New England. Although he was a bit nervous at first with us, once he was settled in at our apartment he has been great. Our cat, Velvet, is still weary and a little scared of him, but is now able to be in the same room and sometimes on the same couch with Barney. He loves to play with his squeaky toys and will sometimes even bring them back to you. He also loves his bones and toys with a little peanut butter for enticement. Barney still seems unsure about new people coming in our apartment, but is getting better as we work on this with him and has been doing well about going potty outside as well. Thank you to Nancy and to Lynn from the Journey’s End Dog Rescue for helping me find Barney and thank you to Barney’s foster mom, Debbie, for the house visit, your time, devotion, and great care of Barney and future foster dogs.

BARNEY IN HIS NEW HOME IN NEW ENGLAND. I PULLED BARNEY FROM A LOCAL SHELTER AFTER HEARING THAT HE WAS TO BE EUTHANIZED DUE TO BEING HEARTWORM POSITIVE. MY VET TREATED HIM AND NOW HE HAS THE LIFE EVERY DOG DESERVES.
Hi Lynn and Debbie,
Peter and I absolutely love Haley. She is such a sweetheart. She is eating well and loves to play with her rope chew toy. Watching her "attack" the rope is entertainment in itself. Saturday was an adjustment day, so we just tried to make her comfortable with us. She loves her bed, and spent most of Saturday in there or on our laps sleeping. We crated her for about 45 minutes so we could run to the grocery store quick, and she did well with it. She ate all of her dinner and had a healthy little treat after. Every time we took her outside she trembled horribly and would just stand in one place. We could not get her to pee. I walked into our bathroom and noticed there was a little wet spot on our rug. She had peed afterall - ironically enough in the bathroom! At bedtime we put her in the crate with a stuffed pig and a chew toy. She wimpered for about 10 minutes, but then went to sleep no problem. On Sunday we got up and I took her out of her crate and right outside. At this point it was misting, but not really raining. She explored a bit, but would not go pee. I took her back in, gave her breakfast, then we went back outside for her poo. She was just not having it. After this we went back inside and she ended up going in the bathroom again, this time on the puppy poop pad I put in there. Haley had a few visitors on Sunday. My sister came and brought her a pink sweater (that she loves to wear) and some Milk Bones. The milk bones are her preference to the healthy apple dog treats I had bought. My parents also came over and brought her a raincoat and a rope chew toy. This toy has become her favorite yet. She was spoiled on Sunday and spent most of the day on the lap of us or my sister, Mo. We want her to get to know Mo and my parents, beacuse they will look after her when we travel to Denmark to visit Peter's family in May. Mo will be staying at our place so she can keep the routine we get Haley into. After my family left, we gave her a bath in the sink and dried her hair. She was sooo good!!! She ate all of her dinner and had fun playing and sitting on our laps Sunday night. She was not a happy girl in her crate, so we brought the crate up to our room and she slept (crated) in our room Sunday night. She was much calmer after we brought her upstairs. Yesterday, I had meetings for work in NYC, so I was gone before breakfast and after dinner. Peter was the one who was giving her all the love and care yesterday, and she just loves him to pieces. The minute she starts to look like she is going to go, we take her right into the bathroom to her potty pad to get her in the habit of that. When I came home, she was on Peter's lap on the couch, and they were having a good time. We played, and last night she needed to be put in her crate for bed, but did not cry at all. This morning I got up, and took her out of her crate. She ran right to the pee pad to do her business, and then I started to get her breakfast and she just wanted to play. So we played a bit and she finished her breakfast and did her business. We left the radio on today when we left for work to hopefully make her comfortable. Today is country day for our little girl! Needless to say, we absolutely love her. Peter has never had a dog before, but they bonded instantly. We feel very fortunate to have found her. I noticed she tucks her one paw under whan she lays down. My German Shepherd (Irish) I had growing up used to do the same thing. I feel like it is a sign that she was meant to find her forever home with us. Thank you for doing the work you both do. Without you we would not have our sweet Haley. We know there are a few training things to work out as she settles in, but she is a fanstastic dog. Meg

Penny is settling in well. My Mugsy was a little taken back at first; but both slept right next to me. Steve and I adore her. She has a hearty appetite and tries to take from Mugs. Doing great; only had one accident. I think she just needed to mark her territory. I can't Thank You enough for all your help and patience. Hopefully I will be able to send a picture of both dogs together, trying but Mugs always turns away when I snap the picture. Thanks again; talk soon. Debra

Hi debbie, thanks for emailing, Deuce has been home now for about 5 hours. He slept happily in the seat next to me on the drive home. he's actually fit in quicker than I would have thought. He stayed on the couch with me with his head on my lap & took a one hour nap with us in bed. He has a nice little snore without his teeth. I'll keep you updated & thanks again for emailing back. Joseph & Sabrina
Hi Deb, I forgot to mention that I noted he likes to give little toothless kisses, He's in bed behind me snoring, it didn't take him long to figure out how to bum treats from me when I'm at the office desk. Joseph

DEUCE IN HIS NEW HOME IN NEW ENGLAND. DEUCE CAME FROM THE EDMOND SHELTER, HE WAS GOING TO BE EUTHANIZED DUE TO HIS TEMPERMENT. Hi Lynn and Debbie,
We are the new and proud owners of Boomer. The transport happened right on time Sat. morning. We were very prepared for a dog the could have stomach issues with the transport, might be nervous and scared, and could possibly need an immediate bath. This was not the case at all. Boomer is awesome. He is so loving, eating fairly well and has yet to have a single accident in the house. He loves to be brushed and is always giving kisses. From the beginning of the adoption process to today I am amazed at how well it has gone. You should be so proud of what you do and we are glad to help.
Boomer also walks well on a leash and sits on command. He does well in his crate at night too. Nothing but positive things to say so far. Thanks so much for giving us this opportunity.
Lynn
Hi Lynn & Debbie,
Just wanted to send you some pictures and let you know that Sassy has adjusted wonderfully. She is in perfect health, weighs just over 5 pounds, and has had her first grooming appointment. She loves to go for walks, enjoys playing ball, and is virtually totally housebroken (she's only had a couple of accidents since we brought her home). We all absolutely adore her.
Thank you! Dawn

Hi Debbie,
Here is Blitz at 4 months in the superbowl pic and 5 months in the other. He is doing very well. All his vaccines are up to date and we've moved onto to advanced beginner classes. He can sit, come, stay, down and heel very nicely. The teething has started and turned him into devil dog at times but he's still so cute. He's been to the groomers and loved his bath. We'll keep you up to date on his progress. Hope all is well. Mary

Lynn & Debbie,
He is doing great! He got a clean bill of health from the vet yesterday. He is getting along very well with our other dog, Calvin and other dogs we have crossed paths with. Our dog walker/sitter just loves him!
I will send a picture when I can get a good one. He is such a wiggle worm.
Thanks for all your help! We love him so much!

We picked up Duke now called Bailey March 26th. He is a great addition to our family. He makes us laugh every day with his playful antics. His personality is wonderful and he has adapted to his new home very quickly. He plays well with my son's mini poodles when they visit. We could not have asked for a better pet. He has been to our vet and we are treating the severe ear problems he arrived with. He is on antibiotics and anti inflamatory meds. He can now hear us when we talk to him and should make a complete recovery.

Dear Debbie & Lynn,
I just wanted to update you that Freddie (now known as Botz) is doing
so great! He's been to the vet, he's walking so well on his leash
now, and we haven't closed the door to his crate since his first day
and he hasn't had a single accident! He loves to go to the bathroom
outside and get his treats! He loves to snuggle and he now knows how
to go up doggie steps onto the bed so he can look out the window.
Here are some pictures after a grooming session. THANK YOU again so
much for taking him in, he is definitely a wonderful loving dog who
deserves a happy life as a pet!
Sincerely,
Amy

Hi Debbie, Flash has arrived at his new house and he is adjusting just fine. He is so wonderful! We just love him sooooooo much. He is so incredibly lovable and affectionate. He is even more beautiful than his picture! He is well mannered also. Thank you so much for the wonderful job you have done with Flash and I promise to continue raising him and giving him the best life for him. Thanks again, Take care and be well, Fondly, Sharon & Flash
Justice already has 8 family members who just love him. What a personality. We threw a toy to our Cavalier and Justice ran like a shot and snatched it right out of his mouth! He is so brave. Right now our Cavalier has been demoted. We have been thinking of a new name for Justice, maybe Gus-Gus. I never knew such a wonderful loving dog would come out of a rescue. I will take the best care of him. My grandson will take a picture of him to send.
I could never thank you enough for this beautiful angel.

Hi Lynn & Debbie,
He is doing WONDERFUL! I love how he sleeps in late with us….lol…our other dog Jazzy is a early riser for sure. Here are pictures for you and we could not be happier! His bowel movements have become regular now and I even gave him a bath Thursday night – which he was so good for! He loves squeaky toys too …I am thrilled as our Jazzy does not make them squeak….someone said careful what you ask for but I just love it! They have begun to play together too. That cracks me up. He is everything you said, sweet, gentle and a love bug!
Thanks you!

Hi Lynn & Debbie, just a few pictures to show you, Cheyanne is adjusting nicely, she still has some aggressive issues with female dogs, other than that she is doing great
Debbie and Lynn,
I hope you are doing well.
Just an update on Parker ... he is going great. Loving the city, the people and activities. With the warm weather, we have been running and rollerblading a fair amount to burn off some of that puppy energy. Regardless of the distance or speed, he is always up for more ... more running and more playtime with his toys. He's playing well with my girlfriends yorkie (Teddy) and has made a few friends in the neighborhood through the dog walker. Also, he recent tried daycare ... the technicians immediately fell in love with him, mentioned that he was a superstar and made a buddy while being there.
Attached are a couple cute pictures of the big guy! Enjoy!

Hi Debbie,
I picked up Cozie this afternoon, and she is really adorable. She was great in the car, and seemed completely unphased by my cat, so I can see they will get along great in no time. She spent at least two hours pacing around the house, but now she's settled down and has eaten. The only thing she hasn't done yet is pee or poop, but I'll get her outside once more before bedtime. I can't tell if she's used to being on a leash or where she wants to do her potty business, but we'll work all this out, I know. She's sweet and calm and loved both my daughter and son in law. I would say that our first afternoon has gone very well, and I plan to stay home with her all day tomorrow before getting back into a more regular routine. Thanks so much for helping me adopt such a sweet little dog. All the best, Barbara
Lynn & Debbie.....
Boe is just the sweetest little thing..... i love him so much. My daughters love him and the kitties are starting to love him. He's been tired and sleeping quite a bit, so we're just letting him make his own schedule. he already knows the sound of dinner-being-made. He loves chicken and rice with a little juice in it. He also loves a little scrambled egg with cottage cheese for breakfast. No accidents here, seems to be extremely well house trained. He walks on a leash like a pro. He's quite sociable and at the same time he's very timid and sometimes cowers.... not sure why though. He walked around the pool when my daughter was swimming with friends..... he was interested in it..... didn't try to go in. He seems like he's never done steps or jumped up on anything..... but he's catching on if he hasn't done it before. He was interested in smelling the cats at first....other than that, he's not really phased by them one way or another. They are checking him out when he's not looking though.
The Alpha-Dog transport was so impressive and the guy who we met and brought Boe to us was terrific, he's an air marshall, curteous, professional, definately dog lovers....great service!!!!! Off to bed now, its been a terrific weekend and we're all exhausted. Hope you all have a great week, i'll start taking more pictures and sending them along with updates..... i really hope everyone is as happy with their adopted pups as we are, keep up the terrific job you are doing on your end!!!! xo0xo0 Sue

Hi Lynn & Debbie
I came home yesterday with this girl named Kitty. She seems okay but I am a little shy. I have been eating a little mainly chicken treats, Kitty is a little worried cause I haven't poo yet, but I have peed outside so that is good. I know where the water is so that is good. She gave me a bath this morning, and I am a little tired but we have gone on quite a few walks. There is a very large orange thing here that pretty much ignores me and then I have a white dog they call Max that walks with me, and I was in the crate with him for a little while today, we did very well. I like my new bed, I slept in it all last night right next to Kitty's side of the bed, Max sleeps on David and Kitty's bed but he snores "wicked" as they say here in Maine. I guess I am changing from an Okie from the skokie to a Maine Yankee... they have some interesting stuff here to smell. I have some pictures attached one is of Max, they tried to get one of us together but not much luck.. we sleep not too far from each other but not real close yet..Maybe I will stay here and call David and Kitty Mom and Dad soon... I am sleeping a lot right now cause I am tired. Just as we arrived with Alpha on the truck the clouds opened right up and boy did we all get soaked!! Other than that I did fine. I like living right near the ocean, some wild smells there! This is the view from my new deck.. I laid there for awhile today... Will you let my Foster Mom (Deb?) Know I am okay and made it safe.
A LETTER FROM MINA IN HER NEW HOME IN MAINE

Happy Mom's Day Debbie! I hope you have a wonderful day and all your puppies are doing great. Here is an update of super Flash: He is going wonderful. He is really progressing with his colorful personality. It feels like every day he shows us a little more of his puppiness! He jumps close to 4 feet high to greet all of us at the door. He loves to fetch his toys and play tug of war. He enjoys his all natural foods. He has not done any poops or pee in the house....he is crate trained still. Loves his crate at nighttime (of course, in our room). Walks very fast and smells everything he can when we take walks with him. We really cannot believe how lucky we are to have him....such a blessing! That's all for now. Flash sends his love to you and all of his friends he left behind. Take Care, Sharon and family

We made the trip home just fine. Bubba (now named Bobby) was a good little traveler after the first few minutes of nervousness. He sat in the back seat with me, and ate some treats that I brought, and he cuddled and slept most of the way. Dooley just is so excited to have him here, and wants to play constantly. I've had to put Dooley outside by himself for short periods, to let Bobby rest and recouperate. Bobby has taken to us immediately, and is the sweetest most loving pup we've ever seen. I'm so glad that we have him in our family. He's a darling. I've taken a couple of pictures, and will send them to you right away. Carol

Hi Debbie & Lynn,
Peanut is just great! So far, Mr Junebug and Peanut get along fine although Mr Junebug wants to play more frequently than Peanut. But Peanut is new, so will give him time to adjust. Peanut was so friendly since the very moment that Mr Junebug and I met him. I am taking Peanuts to the groomer today so he can have a great start in New York. There are many dogs in my neighborhood and they have all noticed the new kid on the block and are friendly toward Peanut and vice versa. Cannot thank you enough, I was blessed twice with Mr Junebug AND Peanut. What a great way to celebrate Mother's Day weekend! Again, many thanks and have a great day! Paula
Hi Debbie,
After a little while with Rosie aka Cozie, (that's what I'm calling her), we are definitely falling in love. She is so sweet, although a bit timid, but completely undemanding. She hasn't made a sound yet. I have no idea what her bark sounds like, and she just does whatever I ask her to do without a peep. She slept in the kitchen by herself last night, and I didn't hear a sound all night. She's eating and sleeping very well, and her eye looks better after putting the ointment in twice a day. Also, she clearly has never been on a leash, so we'll work on that slowly.
Thanks, Barbara
Lynn & Debbie,
Boe is the sweetest little dog. He's adjusting beautifully....
Here are some of todays pictures, i'll be taking more and i'll send them to you.
Thanks again for everything you do finding homes for these little fellas.....XO Sue
Hi Lynn and Debbie,
Zack is a great addition to our family. He got a hair cut and had a trip to the vet. He's got the house breaking figured out, but he has no interest in playing to our dismay. He would rather be petted continuously and sleep kind of like a cat. He is very loving and attentive. Any ideas about getting him to play we'd appreciate them, other then that we are very happy with him.
Thanks, Lisa

Debbie,
I thought I would let you know how Gus (Justice) is doing. He is loved by so many people. Everyone gives him hugs, kisses, and treats. That is why he is 13.8 lbs. It could also be that he eats our other dog's food. What an appetite he has! Next Monday he will havem his second vet visit to catch up on his Lyme Disease shots. The vet had worked in Oklahoma at one time. Gus is also closer to 2 to 2 1/2 years old and a healthy, sturdy boy.
He already chewed through his first harness! I need to buy him another. Our other dog has taught him a few "tricks." Both dogs love going outside when they can. We have had cool weather with rain every day for over a week. Neither dog likes going outside in their raincoats, but it beats being soaked to the skin.
That's all I have to report for know. I just love Gus. We have cuddly time a few times a day. I love his snoring.
Take care, Betty
I wanted to let you know how well Ellie is doing with me (I'm the lady from TX). She is such a joy and loves sitting on my lap, especially if I scratch her back or tummy. She got sick after I brought her home, but a couple of trips to the vet and she's feeling great now. I had a little trouble getting her to eat at first, but she's doing better. I absolutely love her and am so grateful to you for helping me find her.
hey, sorry it's taken me awhile to let you know how things are, but been really busy. so my vet thinks that missy is probably around 7-10 yrs. which is fine cause i was originally looking at senior dogs. my beagle was a little jealous at first, but cool with her now. except when she wants to cuddle with him and he ain't having that...he definately lets her know!! she is still a little clingy, but getting better with that as she realizes we ain't going to leave her! she has found her way into our bed at night, usually right up against jason. but will sleep in her dog bed with a lil convincing. we had an appt. at the vet again this week to get her funky teeth cleaned. she had some nasty breath, but is great now and teeth are sparkly white. had to have two front bottom ones removes, were decade too bad to save. i found a small knot on the inside of her right thigh, they removed it and it was only a cyst, so that was good!! also had blood work and they said she seems well on the inside. she loves "breakfast time" at my house, and gets super excited about eating with the other two, so that's great! she has had to complaints about the dogfood. she's doing great with the potty breaks, although if we leave her to go to town she has pee'd everytime. think that she's just letting us know she's mad. has she ever used those potty pads before?...at least til when can get this under control, cause we would really like to have new carpet, but until then it's gna have to wait. LOL!! i took a few pictures on my phone that i will send you if you'd like, one is of feeding time, it's funny...at least to me anyway. well just wanted to update you a lil. all is good here. and she loves to sunbathe in the yard, i think that she thinks our house is too cold, always wants to be under the covers where ever she's sitting.
thanks for everything
lisa
Sadie is doing fine, you can say for sure, she is my dog, she goes where ever I go, like riding in pickup and looking out the window, we have a business, she fits in here just fine, if I have to go out for a while, I can leave her in my office and close the door, she goes and gets in her bed and is OK until I get back. She still has a lot itching, vet gave me some spray, seems to be working good. She only wants to potty in the bathroom on a rug, she won't go outside at all, we have walked miles, been where other dogs are, still won't go. One of my coffee drinking friends said she has been trained to go on a pad, he said just take the rug out and put down a pad, let her use for a few day, then move it toward the outside door, then outside, then take the pad away. Have you ever heard of the like, ou
r old dog loved to walk and smell and always went outside. But all in all Sadie is quite a dog, thank you very much, you do such a great job, there will be a special place in Heaven for you.
Let me know if you think the potty plan will work, and where do you get the pads.

Hi Debbie, Thank you for letting me adopt Cisco. He is now Paddy Ridge. So far so good. Thursday, the first night, he wouldn't take treats from me, but Friday he would if I threw them across the room. By Saturday he was sniffing me. I thought that was a good sign. He seems to be happy enough here. My boxer mix has taken him under her wing. I will ask her "where is your baby, go get your baby", and she will round him up and bring him into the den. He takes one look at me and he is gone. But he is very fond of Gracie. My IW is fine with him, just lays there as he checks her out. He's always watching me and checking me out, but I'm letting him have his space and time. I do think he is going to be a great dog. He's a good little watch dog. He barks like crazy when someone comes to the door. I am thrilled with him. He has started getting up on the day bed that I have for the dogs. He lays there with my Irish Wolfhound. I did buy him his own doggie bed, but he's yet to use it. I do have a kennel, but I'm not locking him in there. I leave the door open and once in a while he will go in there and lay down. There is a pillow in there for him to lay on. I started him on Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice food. He has been eating it well. I have to watch him on his fluids as he doesn't seem to be drinking enough. Well, I guess he's getting enough, he just doesn't let me see him drinking. He has been urinating fine. I think once his anxiety decreases he will be fine. He does romp and play with Gracie. I tell him how much I love him. I talk to him a lot. In just these few days I've seen an improvement. He has stolen my heart and I'm going to do what ever I have to to help him get over his past. and give him the good home he deserves. I'll let you know how he does. Thanks again, Linda
Sadie has settled in quite well, am still working on the fleas, maybe down to 1 or 2. she comes to work with us and realy likes to meet the customers, realy likes the kids. She likes riding in pickup and looking out the window. She likes to go to coffee, I save her a piece of bacon, makes her day. I still am having a time of her going outside to do her business, she will use the p-pads, some times, will use a rug some, but has only gone outside 2 times.
Thanks again

Debbie,
Well he "found" me today. I was sitting on the couch and he just jumped up in my lap and for most of the day he stayed at my side. Wherever I went he followed and either sat on my lap or right next to me. He does not like walking on the grass and prefers the sidewalks and craps on the sidewalks and not on the grass.
We are both surprised and pleased he has taken to us this quickly. Other than the first night he has not messed in the house at all.
He has really taken to both of us. All you need to do is show them unconditional love and it will be returned. After less then a week it is difficult to think how it would be if he were not here. We both are soooo glad we made the choice to adopt a rescue dog. We took a small chance and it is turning out very, very well. Initially I was a bit leery of a male dog but he is so well behaved and lovable.
We got lucky and hit a home run outta the park the first time. He is with us to stay.

Debbie,
Just wanted to let you know that I just love that dog! He slept all night in the bed and almost wouldn't get up this morning! He likes to lay on his back and put his legs up and fall asleep, on the pillow! so far he potties really well.
Cosmo
Just to let you know that Cisco, now known as Paddy Ridge is doing fine. Still taking time to warm up, but he will now come and jump on my leg. Still doesn't want to be held, but giving him his time. He runs and plays with my boxer mix all day. Sleeps with Gracie, the boxer. Comes up to me when I'm petting Gracie, lets me rub his nose. Still leery of me, but I think we are making small strides. He eats and drinks well. Took the others to the vet. Took him as not to leave him by himself. Gave him a check up since we were there. He did well with Dr. Chris. Very little struggle. Let people pet him and let one of the girls hold him without being totally terrified. Physically his is doing great. Heart, lungs, teeth are great. He has gained weight, has lots of energy. He is very sweet and I love him. He gets excited when I come home from work. Don't know if he is glad to see me, or if he gets excited because the other dogs are excited. He runs to the door when I leave and watches me go. He is a very good watch dog. Lets me know when there is any noise outside. I'm very anxious for him to like me, but know it is going to take time. Never met a dog that didn't like me. But I can accept the fact that if he never warms up to me I will know that he has a good home where he is loved and taken care of. I have to think that since he is doing so well physically that he is happy here. He is a darling, and I feel bad that there are people out there that would abuse little guys like him but I'll do what ever he needs to make him feel secure and loved. Thanks again for letting me adopt him. Linda
Debbie, Just wanted to let you know we fell in love with Crystal (now Kiya, meaning "jovial lady") the day we brought her home. We could not have asked for a more loving, smart, acclemated dog. She fits in perfectly with our home & with our Chiweenie, King Tut--they acted like they were lifelong friends within the first few days! Thank you for taking in our sweet little girl, we never would have had the pleasure of adopting her if it weren't for you. Take care, and wishing you the best with Small Dog Rescue. We look forward to steering people towards you who are interested in adopting. Truly, Jenn & Dustin

Debbie,We are so happy with Casey (renamed from Kelsie) and a Shih Tzu. He and our Peke, Heidi, are playing together at this moment. Casey has been to the vet and passed with flying colors! He responds to several commands such as: Stay!Come! We are working on Sit! because every time we try to pet him, he lies down and rolls on his side. Sometimes I put my hand under his muzzle and tell him to stay and he doesn't lie down.
Thanks again and keep up your good work.
Dee

Well, your little London has been the answer to my prayers! She's the perfect companion and we are having so much fun experiencing life together. She goes everywhere with me and we participated in obedience training at Full Circle. London is now doing great with potty training and is a hoot to be around. I enjoy her exhuberance and love of life especially when I come home tired and warn out. She has a beautiful face and spirit and I will always be grateful to you for making her available to me. She is the perfect dog for me. Bless you and all your rescues. You bring joy to them and to those people they rescue and love.
Janet
Debbie,
Thank you again for your time this weekend. Bentley is a wonderful dog and fits right into our family. He is already spoiled rotten. He made the trip back to Tulsa just fine (slept the whole way). We are still working on him telling us when he needs to potty, but I know it will work itself out. He is such a sweetheart.
Thanks again,
Diana
Hey Debbie,
Hudson is doing very well, it will take time but I see a bright future!
I have a quick question. Do you remember what animal shelter your rescued him from?
Enjoy the weekend, and thank you so very much for all you do for animals!
Cendy
I just wanted to let you know that I am so happy that I found Bella. I've had her now for two weeks and she is fitting right in with me and the two cats. She is just the most precious dog and I just love her. Thank you.
I cannot tell you how absolutely thrilled we are! She has been a perfect angel in every way. My husband is even falling for her. Thank you so much for everything you do.
HI DEBBIE, JUST A LITTLE UP DATE ON MY POOCHI, GOT HER FROM YOU ON 4/1/10
MY FIRST THOUGHT WERE AFTER COMING HOME THAT SHE WOULD NEVER FIT IN, BUT NOW I WONDER WHAT I DID WITHOUT HER. SHE IS LOVELY, LOVING LITTLE DOG,
WE HAD TO HAVE 4 BABY TEETH EXTRACTED LAST WEEK SHE NEVER LOST THEM AND THEY WERE MESSING UP HER PERMANENT TEETH. SHE HAS BEEN TO PUPPY SOCIALIZING CLASSES AND LOVED THAT THE BIGGER THE PUP THE BETTER SHE LIKED THEM. I AM THINKING OF PUTTING HER INTO A LEVEL ONE CLASS SHE LOVED BEING WITH THE OTHER PUPS ALTHO THEY WERE ALL MUCH BIGGERR THAN SHE. SHE IN NOW ABOUT 7-8 LBS. JUST CAME FROM THE GROOMERS AND SHE IS LOVELY/
HER CURIOSITY IS STILL INTENSE. SO SHE CANNOT BE OUTSIDE UNLESS TETHERED OR OFF SHE GOES LOOKING FOR ADVENTURE. SHE HAS GOT LOOSE A COUPLE OF TIMES AND ALWAYS COMES HOME BUT I AM TERRIFIED SHE WILL GET HIT BY A CAR. SO IT IS A SHAME SHE CANNOT BE LOOSE BUT SAFER FOR HER.
SHE TRAVELS WELL WE HAVE GONE ON A COUPLE OF TRIPS AND SINCE SHE IS CRATE TRAINED SHE IS CONTENT IN THE ROOM IN HER CRATE IF WE LEAVE. SHE TRAINED HERSELF TO THE "POTTY pads" IN THE HOUSE. AND WHEN NECESSARY SHE DOES GO ON THEM ALTH I PREER SHE GO OUTSIDE SOMETIMES!!!!
ANYWAY THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE AN UPDATE. I HOPE HER LTTER MATES GOT GOOD HOMES TOO.
THANKS MARJ
Well Sadie is doing fine, she comes to work with us, likes to meet all the little kids, not much on the older people. She now weights 12 lbs., her hair is so black and long, all the hot spots are gone, she is realy good looking dog now, she loves to take walks and go in the motorhome. We are almost retired, in about a month, the first of Nov. The pottie training is going well, allmost done, she won't go outside after dark unless all the outside lights are on, its hard to believe she was a outside dog. If she has to go at nite she goes on a white rug, not a p-pad. She has fit in with out life style and we have fit in with hers. You tell the lady that had her Sadie has a good home now, we have added onto her name, now we call her Sadie Sue. Would it be OK for you to give us her tel. number, so we can call her from time to time and keep her up to date about Sadie Sue.
Curt & Maudie
Watonga, OK
Hi Debbie,
I just wanted to update you on the schnauzer / bichon we adopted through you. She is the black and white puppymill dog that had not been socialized.
She is doing very well. She is smart yet very skittish of people. She now is trained to use our door to go out by barking. She has a good appetite. She will come up to me and lick the back of my leg, but only if I am not looking at her. She is making more eye contact with us every day. She will not let us touch or hold her unless she is in a sound sleep. This is when we take advantage of the opportunity to put her ear drops in for her allergies. Our vet says she may take up to a year to totally socialize. We do bring over my sister's dog to play with her. So far, so good.
Thanks, Roseanna

Hello,
My name is Kelly. My husband and I adopted Angel on July 27, 2010. I just wanted to give you an update. Angel is doing fantastic. She loves to cuddle and she has a healthy appetite. She has definitly come out of her shell and is quite the active little girl. Thanks so much for letting us adopt her. She is my baby. I have never been happier.
Sincerely,
Kelly,Anthony and Angel
I just wanted to let you know I adopted Rambo from you almost a year ago he is doing so good and is my best friend. Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know all was great with him Thank You. Vicky. Happy New Year To You
We adopted "Leo" March 5th, 2010, after a long day of looking for the perfect dog for my son for his 13th birthday. I had searched the internet for weeks looking for a small male dog that would hopefully do well with my 6 year old Persian, Willow and I didnt want to buy a dog. I found your website and found "Leo" and we had to check him out. He was the cutest most innocent looking lil guy I had ever seen and I was scared to death to adopt him (never been a dog person) Scared that him and Willow would never get along and that we would have animal wars for the rest of our lives. Well we brought him home and he is now "Emmett Murph Baldwin", or Mr.Chim (long story). We love him so much and Willow is warming up to him but is the dominant of the two and Emmett could care less. She keeps an eye on him, when she isnt sleeping. Every now and then he will catch her coming down the hall and they will chase each other back and forth, her acting as if she hates every second of it an
d him squilling as he runs after her. My son couldnt believe that day!! I had told him so many times he would never have a dog as long as we had a cat.. We all love him so much and couldnt have asked for a better addition to the family..
Tammy

It's been a great week for Stretch in his new home. He and Red get along great! I can't believe a dog as good as this one was stray and no one claimed him. I feel very lucky to have him. He charms all he comes into contact with. Thanks for everything. Richard
Dear Debbie,
I love my new home, I ate a little this morning, I may have jet lag. I took a stroll around the place and there is this black thing in the living room, mom tells me it's a rabbit, looks a bit funny to me and I really don't mind it at all, mom says his name is Mr. Bailly, I'll call it an it ! Mom gave me a bath , boy did I ever needed that, I'm still don't know what a bath is but I feel better and smell good too. I think I will curl up on my mom's lap now and take a little nap. Mom said she'll show me the neighborhood when I wake up, if I'm up for it. Thank you for finding me a new mom...we watched a little tv last night, I think she did most of the watching...I snoozed!
Basil Von Winterset and mom
Hi Debbie,
I went to Cape Cod for a few days and was I the dog of the hour, everyone I met thought I was so cute ! I'm eating more now and soon will have a diet change more true meat and veggies. I like carrot sticks as a treat! I met my cousin Baron and he is teaching me how to play he brought me a welcome home toy...don't know what to do with it just yet! My kennel paws are beginning to slowly go away and I prance when I walk, my new human is very proud of me. I do my buisness outside for the greater part and I have a problem when my human can't take me where she is going, put it is getting a little better. She goes back to work tomorrow...that's not going to be so good...I have to learn she will be back, put come on now I am just a dog after all! I have had two showers, cuz you know I do smell like a dog, but that will get better with a better diet...so I'm told. Well take good care of my brothers and sisters you are a really good human too!
Basil and TM

Dear Debbie,
My human gave me a peddie and a manie today and I didn't squirm at all...she's pretty good at it. We sit at night on the front porch and read. My human said I was adjusting very well.We had a play date with Baron, he looks just like me but my human says I'm much cuter:) I am having a little bit of a hard time doing my buisness outside, if you have any help to offer my human she would like that. I met a cat the other day...not impressed ! I do like sitting in the dryer though ! We went on a three mile walk the other day and I kept up my human was a bit surprised. I do have a quick question for you though, everytime I do my buisness outside my human picks it up in a bag, now between you and I, is this normal behavior for my human? I am some what concerned. I hope all is well with you and you have been able to find some of my buddies as nice a home as you found for me.
Love,Bazil and TM
Thank you for Diamond. She is a great dog. She acts as if she has been here forever.
She was so cute at the pets store. She went straight for the toys and pick out what she wanted.
She even picked out her bed. She didn't want the pink one. She dragged out the blue one and
dropped it at our feet. LOL
-Jeanette
Dear Debbie,
Here is the picture I promised of "Casey" (formerly Kelsie, I think) and his new friend "Heidi." They find great sport in chasing each other around the house. Casey is very well behaved and a gem of a pet and I do think that we were very fortunate to be able to adopt him.
Please keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Dee
Hey Debbie-
I adopted Shorty now known as Kevin from you about 2 months ago. He is doing amazing and has adjusted really well. He loves going to the dog park and chasing squirrels. He has had a few health things that had to be figured out but he is great now. He still very rarely barks, and loves people and animals alike. I attached some pics for you to put on the website if you want.
Lendsey and Kevin
Hi Debbie,
Sorry I'm just now getting around to sending pictures of Lacy (violet) but I had surgery a few days after this email and just now remember ed to do this. She is such a sweet lovable girl. My granddaughter adores her and loves to carry her around. Well here are the pics.
Teri

We love Princess, the westie terrier mix. I think we got her in April. It has been so long, you probably forgot who she was. I was worried about her shedding and she does shed, but I keep her groomed short and it helps. She is just as you described on line. Loves children, dogs and toys. We have a dog door, so she has had only 3 accidents in our house. She is current with all shots, etc. She has luxating pitella (knees slip out of joint) and I took her to the vet because she cried whenever it happened. He said it was when she turned her foot the wrong way, and it has lessened, so I am hoping she has learned how to be more careful..
So to sum up:
1. She is so smart, a great dog
2. Any suggestions on random accidents?
Hi Debbie, poochi is coming along really well. She has been boarded once and was so glad to get back home she really shaped up !!!! She is very very sweet has lots of curiosity and energy. The vet asked if you had a birthrate for her, I told him around 2/8/10 is that about right. I am waiting to get her rabies shot next bur they suggest 4 months so she will be getting close. I have her in puppy training class at pets mart, and they are doing a good job of training me.
Hope all is well with you thanks again for this lovely little girl. Marj.
Debbie,
Just wanted to send you a couple of pictures of Maddie and me. She is doing well, she seems to be getting more comfortable with her new home. Just getting her used to me being gone during the day while I am at work. She did good yesterday. She is still somewhat timid, but getting better with that also. Thank you again for rescuing dogs and giving them a chance for a good home. I think we will be very happy together.

Hi, Debbie. Sorry it has taken me so long to send you an update on Pookie. Here is a photo of her with her new "mama". Nini is just crazy about her. It is just the two of them and she dotes on her. There couldn't be an animal that is more loved. She is calling her "Yodi-Maude". Everyone thought her ears looked like Yoda from Star Wars, but she thought Yodi would be more of a girl's name. LOL Maude was the name of her favorite little dog that she had for maybe 17 years and this one reminds her of the original Maude. She calls me every few days to give me updates on how sweet and smart she is. She definitely couldn't be in a better home. :)
Laura
RUDY AKA STRETCH IN HIS NEW HOME
Hi Debbie: Stretch is doing great! Here he is taking a break from playing with the neighbor's dog Sammie. Thanks, RW.

Thank you very much for your work with my brother Carl Beyer, and his son Lewis. That midnight exchange took my mother by total surprise that next day. The last thing she told me the night before on the phone was I like FI FI. I had sent her several pictures of your poodles, thinking that Raven would have been the perfect pet. She was in tears the next day waiting for Lewis to drive FI FI To Ft Smith Ark.
Now again, I am jealous of a dog. She has already had her teeth taken care of and has gained a tiny bit of weight. I noticed the other day that she was coming around to being at home with Mom when I heard her little Yipping in the background. She had not made a sound for over a week. As you well know, they don’t start barking like that unless they feel at home, and want to protect. The yipping was only the neighbors working on their car in the drive. FI FI did not like that at all. She will go in the Doggy Door but is having a problem with going out the Doggy Door. Mom seems to think it is because the first step after going thru the door is a step down. I think FI FI could figure it out, but why bother when someone will carry you each time.
The pecking order at mom’s house is The dog comes first, then herself, then us kind, then finally the grandkids.
Thank you ever so much for making my brother’s life and mine happy again. FI FI has made our lives wonderful.
Carl is going to visit her today, if he gets any pictures on his cell phone I could send you one if you would like.
God bless you for all your good work.
Hi Debbie! Just wanted to give you an update. Pandy & Cookie are doing well. Pandy warmed up to me very quickly & he’s slowing allowing the rest of the gang to be his friends too! He loves for us to rub his tummy & he’s going to be our little watch dog. He’s pretty vocal when someone comes thru the front door. Cookie is recovering from surgery & as you know is a total lover dog. She’s very content to have us hold her all day long. They both love to ride in the car so we’ve already enjoyed a couple of trips to PetSmart for supplies. Rufus, our lab, just rolls along with them as if they’ve been with us for years. They are all getting along very well. Thank you again for our sweet, new additions. I’m so glad I found you! Have a great day!
Teresa
Hi Debbie! Sorry it took so long to get this pic to you. The dogs are doing great - we're having so much fun with them! Thank you again - have a great rest of the week.
Cookie & Pandy in their new home
He really is a wonderful dog and I just wanted to let you know that he had a good home and brings great joy to us every day. Thank you for the work you do.
Debbie,
The "kids" appear to be getting along nicely. There was some power play last evening between Ginger and Leo but after a few minutes, they were wrestling like old friends! They each eat peacefully at their respective bowls and my nephew said they all went out at noon today and took care of business. Thank goodness for the king-sized bed-we all had enough room! LOL! Thanks for all that you do and thank your Mom and Dad too! God bless you! Marlina
P.S. Here we are in Petsmart getting new toys, collars, leashes, and food!!!
Dale finally installed the doggie door into the exterior door so the girls are teaching the boys how to "go" right! LOL! We went through a lot of puppy pads and Little Green cleanser waiting for this blessed event! :)
By the way, no more crates for these girls, look at them on the bed with us! And everyone is getting along great! Ginger and Domino vie for the alpha position in a friendly wrestling manner now! Thanks again!
You're an angel on earth!!!
Marlina :)
